3 Habits To Rethink For Weight Loss Success

Spring is here with its promise of new beginnings, which makes it an ideal time to lose those extra pounds that attached themselves to your waistline during this past winter. Shedding those excess pounds successfully is a worthy heart healthy goal. Excess weight makes your heart work harder than it has to, and can lead to a plethora diseases related to obesity. For most of us the weight loss success is not found in new diet plans, or in exhaustive exercise routines, and certainly not in expensive gym or health club memberships, but in how you think. The following quote is often attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson "Sow a thought and you reap an act; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character reap a destiny." The way we think is the seed that grows into a habit that we do without effort or thought. This spring rethink three habits, and experience the benefit of weight loss success. ..»

Health Information Systems

Health Information Systems, is a discipline at the intersection of information science, computer science, and health care. It deals with the resources, devices, and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of information in health and biomedicine. Health information tools include computers, clinical guidelines, formal medical terminologies, and information and communication systems. It is applied to the areas of nursing, clinical care, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, occupational therapy, physical therapy and (bio)medical research.

Clinical Information is concerned with the use of information in health care by clinicians.

Clinical informaticians transform health care by analyzing, designing, implementing, and evaluating information and communication systems that enhance individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care, and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship. Clinical informaticians use their knowledge of patient care combined with their understanding of information concepts, methods, and health information tools to:

* assess information and knowledge needs of health care professionals and patients,
* characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes, * develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems, and * lead or participate in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems.

Clinicians collaborate with other health care and information technology professionals to develop health informatics tools which promote patient care that is safe, efficient, effective, timely, patient-centered, and equitable.
