New Years Resolutions And Hypnosis
It’s that time of year again. The holidays, full of cooking and decorating and gift-giving, are over. Now it’s January and time to focus on you. How are you going to improve yourself in 2010? Are you going to throw out those leftover Christmas cookies, join a gym and drop that extra fifteen pounds you’ve been carrying around since college? Are you finally going to quit smoking once and for all? Or is this the year you’re really going to buckle down and focus on your career, and achieve the professional success you’ve always dreamed of?
Whatever it is you want to achieve in 2010, we can help. Let’s face it: New Year’s resolutions are hard. And most fizzle out by Valentine’s Day. What was your resolution last year? Did you stick to it? If so, congratulations, you are one of the very few Canadians who can make that claim. If you didn’t, you understand how difficult it can be to better yourself, even if your heart is in the right place.
Fortunately, there are some steps you can take to ensure resolution success. First of all, set a reasonable goal. Don’t expect to hit the gym seven days per week if you haven’t owned a pair of running shoes since tenth grade phys-ed. If you aim too high, there’s a good chance you’ll become frustrated, discouraged and give up altogether. Also, be open-minded to adjusting your goals if you discover, once you get started, that your initial plan wasn’t realistic. If you slip up in the beginning, don’t throw in the towel. Remember, everything takes time to get used to and new routines and habits will become easier over time. Furthermore, spread the word! Tell everyone what your resolution is. Their support and interest will act as motivation to keep you going. And you may even find a buddy who wants to make the same changes you do who you can work with.
