Snoring Aids Will Change Your Life
Almost everyone snores occasionally. It can, however, affect the quantity and quality of your sleep. Poor sleep can make you feel tired during the day, make you irritable and increase other health risks. Also, if your snoring is so loud that your bed partner can’t sleep, you may end up banished from the bedroom. Try out these simple snoring aids to see if they might help.
It is important to know the severity of your snoring problem as it will only be then that you will find the most appropriate remedy which will lead to better health, sleep and your relationship with your partner.
Snoring can often seem like a problem without a solution – especially when it is getting in the way of a good night’s sleep for you and your partner. If you want to quit snoring, it is important to consider the cause and severity of your snoring. Identifying the cause can help you choose the right cure. You might want to attempt some of the following simple non-invasive snoring aid treatments first to see if they will help your snoring.
To start with, try sleeping on your side as this simple task may be enough to stop you snoring, especially if you normally sleep on your back and you are not a strong snorer. You could try raising the bedhead a few inches as it could assist breathing and move your jaw and tongue further to the fore. If possible, attempt to sleep without the use of pillows to help neck muscles.
Don’t eat or drink alcohol before going to sleep as they both make the muscles more relaxed in your throat.Although pills and medications help you sleep (but not your partner) they relax the muscles to the extent that the snoring becomes louder. High fat milk products should also be avoided for similar reasons.
The last natural thing to try is to lose some weight for people who snore moderately.Slight loss of weight may reduce snoring as the fatty tissue reduces at the back of the throat. Many chronic snorers are overweight middle-aged people and may have more serious problems medically.
Sleep apnea is sometimes associated with snoring. Sleep apnea is potentially life-threatening. Narrow airways cause snoring whereas sleep apnea is a true breathing obstruction. This means that the sleeper needs to awaken to start breathing again. Someone with this condition may wake up many times a night to regain breathing, but generally doesn’t remember anything about the awakenings. Snoring itself whilst a common symptom of sleep apnea on its own does not entail any stoppage of breathing.
So give these snoring aids a try and see if they can reduce or indeed stop your snoring although if none of these work, it is recommended that you seek medical advice
