Tips To Treat Heart Burn Problems

Certain medications such as aspirin, steroids have a tendency to bring about uneasiness and acid reflux in your stomach. Such heartburn, especially with acid reflux, may subsequently damage your esophagus if it is left untreated. You must reduce the production of acid in your stomach.

Some food items must be avoided in such conditions such as:

- Coffee
- Spicy food
- Fried food
- Carbonated drinks
- Citrus fruits
- Tomatoes
- Chips
- Chocolates
- Alcohol

Food items like alcohol, carbonated drinks such as cola, soda, coffee and chocolate must be avoided. Similarly, spicy food, citrus fruits such as oranges, tomatoes also trigger acid refluxes in you. It is better to minimise their intake, if you are already suffering from symptoms of uneasiness in your stomach.

Second step is to eat smaller meals. Eat frequently but in small amounts rather than 3 big meals a day. The same advice is suggested to pregnant women suffering from acidity too. Maintain at least 1 or 2 hours of gap after eating your dinner. Do not sleep immediately after your dinner. This can ease your symptoms to some extent. If you are over weight, try to reduce weight. Pregnant women often experience these symptoms due to the growth of the fetus in their tummy. This is a common symptom in them.

When you have an attack, reach out to your fridge. Pick up a cabbage and eat a couple of pieces. You can also eat celery which helps ease uneasiness and acid refluxes in your stomach. Cold milk has worked wonders in most of them who are suffering from this uneasiness. It will very soon remove the burning sensation in you. Mixing a tea spoon of yellow mustard in half a cup of water will also provide instant relief. Mash banana and mix it with sour cream to eradicate this burning sensation.

Never skip your meals, it again generates acidity in your tummy. Eat your meals at the right time so that it gets digested well. Avoid anything that is heavy on our stomach such as meat, chicken, spicy food or fried food. Remember that too much or too little stomach acid not only inhibits food digestion, but can cause an overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria in your digestive track. Therefore, do not leave your stomach empty!
